The Tin-Roofed Palace - Apartment of Prince Józef Poniatowski

Apartment of Prince Józef Poniatowski (1763–1813), the most famous resident of the Palace, King Stanisław August’s nephew, minister of war in the Duchy of Warsaw and Marshal of France. The interiors became legendary as the first society salon of Warsaw. Amongst visitors were King-in-Exile, Louis xviii of France and Emperor Napoleon i. In 1807 the Palace became a ministerial office.
